Climate in Kanazawa Kanazawa has four very distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Humidity is high throughout the year, and so is precipitation, reaching a peak in winter which is characterised by leaden skies and snow. The temperature seldoms fails to rise above freezing in winter. Temperature ranges and precipitation (1971 - 2000) are as follows:
*0 C = 32F (F = 9/5C+32) --- 10 C = 50 F --- 20 C = 68 F --- 30 C = 86 F As there is some thirty degrees difference between winter and summer, a wide range of clothing is needed, with thick jackets and waterproof shoes for winter (December through March). Summer (July through September) is hot and humid, so light cotton is best. Spring (April through June) and autumn (late September through November) is mild, though nights can be chilly. |
